Practical: depth-driven background blur

This is the shippable one β€” "portrait mode" without a phone's dual camera. Estimate depth, pick the distance you want in focus, and the page blurs everything else in proportion to how far it is from that plane. A real depth-of-field effect, computed from one flat photo, entirely on-device.

Depth-of-field result

Sharp where a pixel's estimated depth is near the focus plane, blurred everywhere else β€” the further from focus, the more of the blurred layer shows through. Slide the focus to "rack focus" from foreground to background. Blending happens on a canvas; the model only runs once per photo.
